Responsible Gaming

Version: 1.0  |  Last Updated: 30 July 2025

At Crownplay, we believe that gambling should always be an enjoyable, controlled, and responsible form of entertainment. We are deeply committed to the protection of our Players and the promotion of safe gaming practices. This page outlines our approach to responsible gaming, the tools available to help you stay in control, and the support resources available to those who may need them.

This Responsible Gaming Policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.

1. Our Commitment

1.1. A Safer Gambling Environment

Crownplay is committed to maintaining an environment where gambling remains safe and enjoyable for all our Players. We recognise that, for a small proportion of individuals, gambling can develop into a problem that negatively affects their financial situation, mental health, and personal relationships. We take this responsibility seriously and have implemented a comprehensive framework of tools, policies, and processes to help identify and support at-risk Players.

1.2. Core Principles

Our responsible gaming approach is guided by the following core principles:

  • Prevention: We proactively work to prevent problem gambling through education, awareness, and player protection tools;
  • Protection: We protect vulnerable individuals, including minors and those at risk of developing gambling-related harm;
  • Empowerment: We empower Players to make informed decisions and take control of their gambling behaviour;
  • Support: We provide clear pathways to professional support for those who need it.

2. Recognising Problem Gambling

2.1. Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or income level. It can develop gradually and is often difficult to recognise. The following checklist may help you identify whether gambling has become a problem for you or someone you care about:

  • Spending more than you can afford: You are gambling with money needed for essential expenses such as rent, food, or bills;
  • Chasing losses: You continue gambling to try to win back money you have lost;
  • Preoccupation with gambling: You find yourself constantly thinking about gambling, planning your next session, or reliving past wins and losses;
  • Escalating stakes: You feel the need to bet increasing amounts of money to achieve the same level of excitement;
  • Failed attempts to cut back: You have tried to reduce or stop gambling but have been unable to do so;
  • Neglecting responsibilities: Gambling is causing you to neglect work, family, social obligations, or self-care;
  • Borrowing money to gamble: You have borrowed money, sold possessions, or engaged in dishonest behaviour to fund gambling;
  • Concealing gambling behaviour: You feel the need to lie to family, friends, or colleagues about how much time or money you spend gambling;
  • Gambling to escape: You use gambling as a way to cope with stress, depression, anxiety, or other emotional difficulties;
  • Gambling despite negative consequences: You continue to gamble despite serious financial, legal, or personal consequences.

If you identified with three or more of the above statements, we strongly encourage you to use the Player Protection Tools described in Section 3 below and to seek support from one of the organisations listed in Section 6.

3. Player Protection Tools

3.1. Deposit Limits

You can set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits to control how much money you add to your Account within each period. Once a limit is set, it takes effect immediately. Reducing a deposit limit takes immediate effect; increasing a limit is subject to a cooling-off period of 24 hours before the new (higher) limit becomes active.

3.2. Loss Limits

Loss limits allow you to cap the net amount you are prepared to lose over a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). When your net loss reaches the set threshold, you will be unable to place further bets until the period resets. As with deposit limits, any reduction takes immediate effect, while increases are subject to a 24-hour review period.

3.3. Session Time Limits

You can restrict the maximum duration of any single gaming session. Once the limit is reached, you will be automatically logged out of your Account and prompted with a reality check message. This tool helps prevent unplanned extended play sessions.

3.4. Reality Checks

Reality check notifications can be configured to alert you at regular intervals (e.g., every 30 or 60 minutes) during a gaming session. Each notification displays the time elapsed and a summary of your net wins or losses during the session, giving you the opportunity to assess your play objectively.

3.5. Cooling-Off Period

A cooling-off period allows you to take a temporary break from gambling without the permanence of full self-exclusion. You may select a cooling-off period of 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days. During this period, you will not be able to access the Games or deposit funds. Cooling-off periods cannot be shortened once activated.

3.6. Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is available for Players who feel they need a longer-term break from gambling. You may self-exclude for a period of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or 5 years, or request a permanent self-exclusion. Once self-exclusion is activated:

  • Your Account will be suspended and you will not be able to log in or place bets;
  • You will be removed from all marketing communications;
  • Any Real Money Balance will be made available for withdrawal;
  • Reactivation before the minimum period expires is not permitted.

To request self-exclusion, please contact our support team at [email protected]. We also strongly encourage you to consider registering with national self-exclusion schemes if available in your jurisdiction.

3.7. Account Closure

If you wish to close your Account entirely due to gambling-related concerns, please contact us at [email protected]. We will process your request promptly and without placing unnecessary barriers in your way.

4. Tips for Responsible Gambling

4.1. Golden Rules of Responsible Gambling

We encourage all Players to follow these guidelines to ensure gambling remains a positive experience:

  • Set a budget before you play and never exceed it, regardless of outcomes;
  • Treat gambling as entertainment, not as a source of income or a financial strategy;
  • Never chase your losses — accept that losing is a normal part of gambling;
  • Take regular breaks and step away from the screen at set intervals;
  • Do not gamble under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs your judgment;
  • Keep gambling in balance with other leisure activities and social engagements;
  • Only gamble with money you can afford to lose — never use funds earmarked for essentials;
  • Avoid gambling when emotionally distressed — decisions made under stress or emotional pressure are rarely good ones;
  • Set time limits for each session and commit to stopping when the time is up;
  • Know when to stop — if gambling stops being fun, it is time to take a break.

5. Protection of Minors

5.1. Age Restriction

Access to and participation in the Games on this Website is strictly limited to individuals who are 21 years of age or older. Crownplay enforces strict age verification procedures as part of its KYC process. Any Account found to belong to a person under 21 will be immediately closed and all funds returned or forfeited as appropriate.

5.2. Safeguarding Advice for Parents and Guardians

If you share a Device with minors, we strongly recommend the following precautions:

  • Never leave your Account logged in when your Device is unattended;
  • Use strong, unique passwords and do not share your login credentials with anyone;
